Restoration Work, Done with Care

Skilled restoration of period properties and original architectural features.

Restoration

Restoration work requires a particular combination of skill, patience and respect for original materials. We carry out restoration projects on period and historic properties across West Sussex, working carefully to repair, reinstate and preserve features that give a building its character.

Restoring What’s There

Where original fabric can be retained and repaired, that is always our preferred approach. We work to repair rather than replace wherever possible—saving original features and maintaining authenticity.

Period Joinery & Carpentry

Much of our restoration work centres on period joinery and carpentry, including:

  • Repair and reinstatement of original windows and doors
  • Staircase restoration and repair
  • Replacement of like-for-like timber elements
  • Reinstatement of cornices, architraves and period detailing
  • Bespoke joinery to match existing profiles

Working with Original Materials

We understand the importance of using appropriate materials—whether that is matching existing timber species and profiles, working with lime-based mortars or sourcing materials that are sympathetic to the original construction.

Sensitive & Considered

Every restoration project is approached with care. We take time to understand the building, its history and its significance before work begins—ensuring decisions are made that protect and enhance rather than diminish.

Working Alongside Specialists

Where required, we work alongside conservation architects, historic building consultants and specialist suppliers to ensure restoration work meets the appropriate standards and, where relevant, satisfies listed building consent requirements.
